Robert Camp

Mr. Robert Camp, age 79, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at a Rome medical center.

He was born October 12, 1937, a son of the late Henry Camp and Pauline Wade Camp. Mr. Camp had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was a member and Deacon of Morning View Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Mr. Camp worked for Rome Plow for over 20 years before working for Polk School District as a custodian where he retired after many years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Rena Camp, Roy Camp and Stephen Camp; and two sisters: Mary Sue Rice and Betty Bramlett.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Ruby Hooper Camp of Rockmart, to whom he was married on November 7, 1964; one son, Robby Camp and his wife Sarah of Rockmart; two granddaughters: Brandi Gore and Trannie Gore; one great-granddaughter, Alyse Gore, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Morning View Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hulsey and Rev. Bobby McDowell officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Dale Bramlett, Greg Rainey, Rodney McFall, Todd Hooper, Brent Hooper, Eddie Hooper, and Johnny Garrett.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
