Rodney Pirkle

Mr. Rodney William Pirkle, age 59, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019.

He was born in Rome, GA, a son of Billy Pirkle and Dorothy Caldwell Pirkle. Mr. Pirkle had lived the greater part of his life in Rome and Florida before moving to Rockmart where he has made his home since 2016. He loved fishing, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons and spending time with his family. During his time in Florida he attended Ocean City Community Church in Fort Walton Beach.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Pirkle; brother, Alan Pirkle; father-in-law, Carl Suggs, brother-in-law, Wayne Wofford; sister-in-law, Kathy Wallard.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Lucy Pirkle of Rockmart, to whom he was married on July 8, 1991; daughter, Dorothy Pirkle; two sons: William Pirkle and James Pirkle (Dani); mother; Dorothy Caldwell Pirkle; sister-in-laws: Tammy Wofford (Jeff), Debbie Wofford, Julie Jones and Pam Winters; mother-in-law, Ellen Thurman; step father-in-law, Willis Thurman; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special Pastor, Charles Sansom, Sr..

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Pirkle will be cremated and memorial services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Crossview Church.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the residence, 129 Hogue Ave, Rockmart.
