Ronny William Sumlar, Sr.

Mr. Ronny William Sumlar, Sr., age 73, of Silver Creek, GA passed away Monday, November 18, 2019.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on June 3, 1946, a son of the late Pete Sumlar and the late Lillian Byrd Sumlar. Mr. Sumlar was a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church and was retired from General Motors. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and making trips to Panama City Beach, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Ballew Sumlar; and two sisters: Dorothy Woodall and Betty Hutcheson.

Survivors include his four children: Scotty Sumlar, Monticello, William "Brian" Sumlar, Silver Creek, Ronny "Willy" Sumlar, Jr., Silver Creek and Jada Hardegree and her husband Jody, Silver Creek; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Stevie Waddell and Rev. Michael Goss officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Tony Goss, Ricky Goss, Scotty Goss, Chris Dale, Jack Goss and Jesse Jackson.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
