Roy Joseph Bourg

Mr. Roy Joseph Bourg, Sr., age 70, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Bourg was born in New Orleans, LA, on April 21, 1954, a son of the late Homer Joseph Bourg and Mary Margaret Adams Bourg.  He had been a resident of Rockmart since 1988 and was a welder by trade.  Mr. Bourg enjoyed woodworking, drawing, fishing and cooking.  He loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bourg was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Ann Bourg in 1991, two sisters, Mary Ann McElroy and Rose Bourg, and a brother, Albert “Doggie” Bourg.

Mr. Bourg is survived by his companion, Mary Elizabeth Hulsey; fur-child, Ringo; children, Jeanie (Doug) Head, Roy J. (Kristy) Bourg, Jr., Connie (Brian) Stokes, Jason Bourg, and Joshua Bourg; children of his former wife, Susan (Richard) Crawford, Greg (Buffy) Hulsey, and Nancy Hulsey; brothers, Norman Bourg, Ray Bourg, and Sidney Bourg; sisters, Barbara (Reed) Lombes, and Peggy (Bert) Riggs.  Fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Bourg will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
