Roy L. Sampson

Mr. Roy L. Sampson, age 89, of Aragon, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

Roy was born on September 3, 1932 in Columbus, GA, to his parents: Wilbert Merle Sampson and Flossie Mann Sampson. Aragon has been home for Roy since 1981 after moving from Cobb County. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, where he served in The Korean War. Mr. Sampson was self-employed as a trucker. After retirement, he worked for Lovell Farms. In his free time, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Sampson was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Virginia Matthews, Mary Ann Roush and Carol Kelly; brothers: Robert Sampson and John Sampson.

Mr. Sampson is survived by his loving wife, Pat Sampson of Aragon, GA; sister, Betty Bush of Ohio, brother-in-law, Michael Turner of Aragon, GA; sister-in-law, Dixie Sampson of Ohio and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sampson will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Flint Hill Baptist Church with eulogies given by the family. Interment will follow the service at Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chris Johnson officiating and Brown-Wright Post # 12 American Legion Honor Guard providing military rites.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Ronald Lovell, Ricky Waters, Bobby Schrader, Mack Albers, Dakota Laney and PJ Greer.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
