Ruby Jo Mcpherson

Mrs. Ruby Jo McPherson,, age 74, of Buchanan, GA passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 in Carrollton following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Hillwood, AL on March 30, 1941 a daughter of the late Arthur Faulkner and Naomi Blalock Faulkner. Mrs. McPherson had lived the greater part of her life in Haralson County and was a member of the Hills Creek Baptist Church in Rockmart. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother devoting her time to her family. Mrs. McPherson enjoyed cooking, sewing and she also enjoyed fishing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by seven sisters and brothers.

Survivors include her husband of fifty five years, Rev. Gerald McPherson of Buchanan to whom she was married on November 26, 1960; two daughters: Tina Cochran and husband Steve of Calhoun and Tracy Moore and husband Mark of Delta, AL; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Edna Gallman. Talladega, AL; three brothers: Gene Faulkner, Sylacauga, AL, Johnny Faulkner, Sylacauga, AL and Danny Faulkner, Montgomery, AL; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hills Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Tibbetts officiating. Interment will follow in the Hills Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include: Derek Forrister, Brodie Pullen, Art Faulkner, Charles Mercer, David Campbell, Lewis Collum, Conor Collum and W.D. Collum. Honorary pallbearers will include: Grady Collum, C.J. Griffin and James Hembree.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home, Rockmart.
