Mrs. Ruby Lee Alexander, age 84, of Taylorsville passed away Monday, August 10, 2020.
She was born in Lumberton, MS on December 11, 1935, a daughter of the late Samuel Clifton Fennell and the late Gracie Elizabeth Holley Fennell. Mrs. Alexander lived the greater part of her life in the Yorkville Community before moving to Bartow County. She was a member of the Springdale Baptist Church. She enjoyed canning, sewing, and cooking big meals for her family who she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Alexander; her son, Jeff Alexander; brothers: S.C. Fennell, Eugene Fennell, James Fennell, and Rev. Andy Fennell; sisters: Mildred Weaver, Louise Forsyth, and Vylee Chandler.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth Carroll, Taylorsville; grandchildren: Rhonda Taylor Waddell (Scott), Lee Carroll, and Kimberly Alexander; great-grandchildren: Lexy Blanton (Hayden) and Zander Carroll; two brothers: Edward “Junior” Fennell (Nina) and Earnest Fennell (Jean); sister, Doris Wisener; sisters-in-law: Barbara Fennell and Katie Fennell; former son-in-law, Freddy Carroll; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 5:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby McDowell officiating. Interment will follow in the Springdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Shane Moody, Wade Brock, Kem Weaver, Dale Fennell, Wayne Fennell, Daniel Fennell and Freddy Carroll.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are recommended.
