Ruth Olivia Lindsey

Mrs. Ruth Olivia Lindsey, age 78, of Rockmart passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born on July 31, 1934 in Polk County a daughter of the late Jessie Bryan Moore and Minnie Lee Goddard Moore. Mrs. Lindsey had lived all of her life in the Rockmart area where she was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. She retired in 1996 with 25 years of service from Murata Electronics Corporation. Mrs. Lindsey was an avid seamstress, loved her flowers and was a wonderful cook.

Survivors include her husband Mr. Paul L. Lindsey of Rockmart to whom she was married on May 1, 1954; daughter, Debra Helms and husband Bobby, Rockmart; son, Duane Lindsey and wife Jerri, Jackson, MS; three grandchildren: Clint Helms, Rome, Amanda Gravett, Rockmart and Whitney Lindsey, Rockmart; two great grandchildren: Mattie Rae Gravett and Andrea Mae Gravett; brother, Jimmy Moore, Rockmart; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Dewey Atchley officiating. A eulogy will be given by her grandson Clint Helms. Entombment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Scotty Sorrells, Keith Lindsey, Michael Gravett, Clint Helms, Steve Landrum and David Moore.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
