Ruth Proctor Reece

Mrs. Ruth Proctor Reece, age 80, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Reece was born on October 1, 1941 in Polk County to her parents: Roy Lee Swift and Ollie Ruth Rowell Swift. Ruth lived all her life in Polk County and was a member of Second Baptist Church for many years. She loved the life she was given and lived it to the fullest. Ruth was a “tough little cookie” as her family and friends would all say. Mrs. Reece was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reece was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Reece, and her son, Benny “Bo” Proctor.

Ruth is survived by her loving children: Nicky Proctor and his fiancé, Tabetha Miller of Rockmart, GA, Belinda Hutcheson of Gainesville, GA, grandchildren: Ashley Proctor, Nicholas Proctor, Nickashell White, Lindsey Clay, Amanda Wynn and Erin Hutcheson, 14 great-grandchildren, brother, Roy Lee Swift II, and her special and dear friend, Jessica Mauldin.

In keeping with the families wishes, Mrs. Reece will be cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
