Sandra Gail Causey

July 4, 1955 — January 2, 2023

Mrs. Sandra “Gail” Causey, age 67, of Cedartown GA, formerly of Rockmart, left her broken body behind and stepped into the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 2, 2023.

She was born on July 4, 1955, to Clarence James Costlow and Edna Mae Hulsey Costlow. Both of her parents were there to welcome her into heaven.

Gail was a beloved wife, mama, granny, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend. She cherished each of those titles. As a wife she will be remembered for being the best helpmate, for loving her husband unconditionally for 49 years, for being his rock, being the one who completely stole his heart, and being the most stubborn of the two in the relationship. It was a close race though. As a mama she will be remembered for her gentleness and her love for her daughters. She would always tell each one, they were her favorite (for their age). She was the epitome of what a mother’s love should be. She gave the best kisses and was the perfect singing companion. She taught them, by example, how to fill a home with love no matter how little material possessions were there. As a granny, she was the perfect nap companion. Even if most of the time she claimed she was only resting her eyes. She was the lawnmower driver that happily sat a grandbaby on the seat with her. She had the best lap to sit in, gave the best backrubs, always wanted to braid hair (or steal it), bragged on them every chance she got, and never said no to them having junk food. Granny was probably her favorite title. As a sister, she was always excited to be with her siblings. There was nothing more fun than a girl’s night where she always managed to win whatever game was being played. The bond they had together stood the test of time. Gail loved animals of all kinds, but her favorites were her Gizmo, Patches, and Smiley. She loved Goodwill and their DVD section. She always found things at other people’s houses that she wanted and would always jokingly ask if they wanted her to have it. We’ll just say she was a collector of things. She was a jokester, a story teller, hard worker, the best hug giver, and a friend to all. She loved people and she did it without judgment, without holding grudges, and one of the greatest lessons she taught was that you never know what someone is going through. She loved people and interacted with them as if she were the only person that day that may be nice to them and give them a smile. People would come around her just to feel her kindness and to let her lend a listening ear. She knew and believed in who Jesus was and what He did for her. For that reason, her family and friends can rejoice in the midst of their pain.

Gail is survived by her husband, Jimmy Causey, whom she married July 11, 1973; three daughters, Michelle Wheeler (Gene Green) of Rockmart, Sandra (James) Fay of Rockmart, and Nickie (Richard) Kile of Cedartown; grandchildren Michael (Ashaleigh), Kayla (Cody), Kyra (Chase), Leah, Logan, and Makenzie; great grandchildren, Will, Aiden, Tanner, Riverlynne, Rhett, Della, and Demi; brothers and sisters Carolyn Silva, Jimmy Costlow Sr., Teresa (Duane) King, Judy Walls, and Janice (Tom) Hamby; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
