Sara Ruth Bennett

Mrs. Sara Ruth Bennett, age 88, of Silver Creek, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

Mrs. Bennett was born on February 15, 1934 in Aragon, GA to her parents: Olen Mac Davenport and Florence Sisson Davenport. Sara spent the greater part of her life in Polk County and had been living in Piedmont, AL for the past 4 years. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Damascus Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and any and all types of flowers. Sara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Bennett; son, Lloyd Bennett; brothers: Willard Davenport and Wilburn Davenport; sister, Billie Sue Cason and two infant sisters.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her four children: Effie Lynn Bennett of Taylorsville, GA, Jeff (Becki) Bennett of Rome, GA, Tracy (John Seaman) Bass of Piedmont, AL and Billy Bennett of Laurens, SC; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bennett will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM in The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Miller, Rev. Kyle Tibbetts and Rev. Ralph Williams officiating. Interment will follow the service at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Terry Sisson, John Seaman, Kane Graham, Wesley Cason, Travis Cason and Dudley Epperson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

The family would like to extend a special and loving thank you to all of Piedmont Health Care staff for taking such great care of Mrs. Bennett.
