Seabron Brown

October 29, 1925 — April 27, 2013

Mr. Seabron Brown, age 87, of Rockmart passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his residence following several months of declining health.

He was born in Union County, GA on October 29, 1925 a son of the late Joseph Lorenza Brown and Ida Elizabeth Logan Brown. Mr. Brown had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart where he owned and operated Browns Wrecker Service for many years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Brown was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Brown on December 23, 2005; by six sisters: Ora Turner, Ada Martin, Avie Cook, Mary Lou Owens, Fannie Duvall and Clara Hightower; and by two brothers: Oscar Brown and John Brown.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law David and Anita Brown, Benton, Arkansas; a daughter and son in law Traci and David Pittman, Rockmart and a son and daughter in law Duane and Truedisha Knight, Cartersville; a sister, Hazel Austin, Rockmart; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. David Warriner officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery with the Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion in charge of military rites.

Pallbearers will include: Irvin Austin, Tina Brown, Will Pittman, David Pittman, Matt Daniel and Duane Knight.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Seabron Brown.
