Sheila Jean Smith

Mrs. Sheila Jean Smith, age 56, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. She was born on June 10, 1964 in Atlanta, GA, to her late parents: Wiley Woodard and Betty Jean Buchanan Woodard. Sheila spent the greater part of her life in Polk County. Mrs. Smith worked for Wal-Mart as a customer service manager and was a faithful member of Seney Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith loved her church family and enjoyed going to church. She also enjoyed gardening and her sweet pets, but most importantly, she loved her family dearly. Mrs. Smith was a loving and caring wife, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Greg Woodard.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving husband, Rusty Smith of Rockmart, GA, sister, Linda White and her husband, Lamar of Rockmart, GA, brother, James Woodard and his wife, Glenna of Aragon, GA, her special niece, Kelly Jones of Rockmart, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Sheila Smith will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Teal officiating. Interment will follow the service at Taylorsville Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Brad Loyd, Nathan Bearden, Shannon Wilmot, Kenny Henry, Billy Valencia and Justyn Rivera-Woodard. Johnathan Jones will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at the funeral home on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
