Mrs. Shelby Jean Taylor, age 58, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Rome, GA on September 15, 1957, a daughter of the late George Farring Phillips and Myrtle Moore Phillips. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Morning View Baptist Church and had been a resident of Rockmart most of her life.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Mr. Craig Taylor, to whom she was married on October 24, 1983; one son, Richard Taylor and wife, Johnna, of Temple, GA; one daughter, Casey Taylor of Rockmart; grandson, Braylon Reese, and granddaughter, Amaya Taylor; three sisters: Lisa Kerr and husband David or Rockmart; Theresa Lynch and husband Robert of Cullman, AL; and Regina Hollis and husband Tim of Murfreesboro, TN.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Hooper and Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Taylor will include: David Kerr, Bradley, Kerr, Mike Williams, Scott Carter, Blainey Freeman, Jonathan Williams.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, October 8, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
