Mrs. Shirley Ann Dycus, age 86, of Hiram, GA, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Tanner Medical Center.
Shirey was born in Atlanta, GA, on August 25, 1937, daughter of the late Henry Lawrence Gault and Mary Mauldin Gault. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had retired from Paulding County School System after 19 years of service. Shirley enjoyed sewing quilts, working crossword puzzles and playing scrabble.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, McCoy Dycus; daughter, Lisa Dycus; brother; Frank Gault; son-in-law, Alfred Hall.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Vickie Hall and Leslie Rodriguez; three sons, Keith Dycus (Tammy), David Dycus (Stephanie), and Craig Dycus (Cheryl); son-in-law, Fabian Dycus; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, John Gault and Robert Gault; three sisters, Beverly Pruett, Susan Duvall, and Sandra Buckner; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Mr. Bradley Shaw officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 pm until the service hour at the funeral home.
