Shirley Anna Lyle

Mrs. Shirley Anna Lyle, age 83, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 in a Cedartown nursing center following several months of illness.

She was born in Rockmart, GA on November 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Jervis Woods and the late Jewell Holland Woods. She made her home in Cobb county for thirty five years before returning to Rockmart in 1992. Mrs. Lyle was a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ and had been an employee of Charter Communications. She loved hummingbirds and her flowers, had a very witty personality and had unconditional love for others.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Lyle; by her daughters: Duanaree Stoyle and Terri Jones and by a grandson, Colt Johnson. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Elgerie Powers Prater and by two brothers: Gerrond Woods and Bruce Woods.

Survivors include two granddaughters: Brooke Amandolia (Andy), Powder Springs and Stephanie Jones (Steve), Bremen; four great grandchildren: Aleigha Huston, Shawn Huston, Seth Jones and Avery Jones; brother, Stanley Woods, Lagrange and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Minister Justin Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Steve Jones, Andy Amandolia, Shawn Huston, Seth Jones and Avery Jones.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
