Shirley Anne Duke

Mrs. Shirley Anne Duke, age 69, of Aragon, GA passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her residence.

She was born in Bartow County, GA on March 8, 1944 a daughter of Luther B. White and Teresa Marcella Williams White. Mrs. Duke grew up in Taylorsville later moving to Aragon. She had made her home in Rome, GA for nine years before returning to Aragon this year. She was a member of the Glory Road Baptist Church and was a former employee of Central Plaza Grocery. Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by her father Luther White and her mother Teresa White Barnette.

Survivors include six children: Robert (Bobby) Duke, Jr.,Tommy Duke, Rockmart, Eddy Duke, Rockmart, Donna Brumbelow, Aragon, Melanie Gibbs, Aragon and Michael Duke, Aragon; three sisters: Wanda Gentry, Taylorsville, Sybil Roberson, Taylorsville and Joyce Ann Cagle, Cartersville; five brothers: Clyde Barnette, Taylorsville, Ricky Barnette, Taylorsville, Randy Barnette, Aragon, Preston Barnette, Dallas and Dean Barnette, Taylorsivlle; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 29, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Roberson and Rev. Ed Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Chad Duke, Dakota Gibbs, Gage Gibbs, Justin Pope, Timmy Gibbs and Grady Willis.

The family will receive friends Friday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
