Mrs. Shirley Annette Baliles Mahan passed away peacefully Saturday, July 30, 2016 in a Rome, GA medical center at the age of 68.
Shirley was born on February 16, 1948 in McCaysville, GA to Grady and Lorene Prince Baliles. She was a graduate of Copper Basin High School of Copperhill, TN in 1965. Mrs. Mahan was manager of the Walker Mountain Store in Rome, GA. She married Phillip Ray Mahan on September 3, 1966 and was a dedicated wife, mother, nenah and friend who was passionate about her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Grady Baliles, her mother, Lorene Prince Baliles Couch and brother, Fred Baliles.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Phil; her two daughter both of Rockmart: Tammy Garrett (Tim) and Tonya Mahan (Mark Jones); two grandsons: Griffin Garrett and Brady Garrett of Rockmart; her brother, Daniel Baliles, Texas and her step father, James Couch, Rockmart.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society or The American Heart Association in her memory.
The family would like to thank all of their wonderful friends and family for being so loving and supportive through this difficult time for them.
In keeping with Shirley's wishes she was cremated and no formal services are to be held.
