Susan Gail Brown Pope

Mrs. Susan Gail Brown Pope, age 63, of Aragon, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.

Mrs. Pope was born on July 25, 1958 in Cartersville, GA, to her parents: Jimmy Brown and Syble Potts Brown. Susan lived the greater part of her life in Aragon. She was a faithful member of Gordon Hill Baptist Church and known as the “Mother” of the church. She was the worlds best singer and a huge Georgia Bulldog fan! She always use to say to her grandchildren, “I love you to the moon and back whoa whoa whoa” Mrs. Pope worked for Shaw Industries in quality control for 20 years. Mrs. Pope was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt , church mom and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Shane Pope; grandson, Blake Pope; brother, Randy Brown and sister, Gwen Morris.

Mrs. Pope is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Pope of Aragon, GA; son, Renathan Pope (Lisa) of Aragon, GA; daughter, April Darden (Mario) of Rockmart, GA; 9 grandchildren: Devin Darden, KateLynn Darden, Kylie Darden, Nadia Darden, Ny’Asia Darden, Evan Pope, Cooper Pope, Noah Pope and Raelynn Pope; 2 great-grandchildren: Nolan Tanner and Eleanor Tanner; 3 sisters: Becky Smith, Jennifer Whaley and Bobbie Sue Brown; brother, James Croy and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Pope will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Rose Hill Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Deacon Jeffery William, Jr. and Rev. Jeff Pope officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Renathan Pope, Devin Darden, Evan Pope and Jakolbi Griffin.
