Mr. Terry Lindsey, age 76, of Buchanan, GA passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 in a Rome medical center.
He was born in Rockmart, GA on August 27, 1944 a son of the late G. H. Lindsey and the late Emma Gladys Sanford Lindsey. Terry had the lived the greater part of his life in Polk county and was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He formerly owned and operated Haralson Termite Company. He enjoyed playing the guitar, cooking, watching sporting events and hunting.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Edith Fay Landrum and Marie Harper and by a brother, W.B. (Buddy) Lindsey.
Survivors include his wife, Onita Deems Lindsey of Buchanan to whom he was married on February 10, 1963; son, Tony Lindsey, Buchanan; daughter, Kim Lindsey Mays (Michael), Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren; brother, Paul Lindsey, Rockmart and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Michael Mays, Scottie Sorrells, Steve Landrum, Roger Landrum, Dewayne Lindsey, and Keith Lindsey.
The family will receive friends Monday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Social distancing rules are to be applied and facial coverings are recommended.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made in Terry's memory to the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, in care of Billy Ward treasurer 257 Iron Hill Road Taylorsville, GA 30178.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Terry Lindsey.
