Thomas (Jerry) Mcdowell

Mr. Thomas (Jerry) McDowell, age 79, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021. He was born on March 6, 1941 in Dallas, GA, to his late parents; Clyde and Cora Lindsey McDowell. Jerry lived in Rockmart for the greater part of his life and attended Rockmart High School. He was retired from Georgia Power, where he had worked as a auxiliary worker for over 20 years. Mr. McDowell was a proud veteran of The United States Army and was Baptist by faith. In his free time, he greatly enjoyed wood working. Mr. McDowell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Rex Crowley.

Mr. McDowell is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Brenda McDowell of Rockmart, GA, two sons: Jeff McDowell of Marietta, GA, Keith Crowley and his wife, Clarissa of Rockmart, GA, three grandchildren: Allen, Paula and Marci, and two great-granddaughters: Mary Kathryn and Kinsley Marie.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. In keeping with Mr. McDowell's wishes, his body will be cremated after the visitation.
