Mr. Tim Robinson, age 64, of Rockmart, GA passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in a Rome medical center.
He was born in Rockmart, GA on September 26, 1955, a son of the late James Carl Robinson and the late Jeanette Chupp Robinson. Tim had lived all of his life in Rockmart and was a faithful member and Sunday School teacher at Morning View Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, NASCAR and was an avid sports fan. Mr. Robinson was very active in the sports programs where he volunteered over thirty years coaching Little League Baseball and Girls Softball. He was influential in the development of Dean Field and has been the only recipient of the Civic award given by the City of Rockmart. He was employed with Floyd Medical Center where he served as maintenance supervisor and had twenty eight years of service. Tim had a great love for his family, especially his two grandsons.
Survivors include his wife of thirty nine years, Judy Jackson Robinson of Rockmart, to whom he was married on September 27, 1980; son, Ryan Robinson and his wife, Emily, Rockmart; daughter, Lindsey Robinson, Rockmart; two grandsons: Brooks and Thatcher Robinson; sister, Tina Robinson, Adairsville; brother, Marty Robinson, Rockmart; sister-in-laws: Janet Dover, Rockmart and Jill Gowens and her husband, David, Silver Creek; nephews: Holden Robinson, Will, Justin and Wes Dover, and Dalton, Branson and Brody Gowens.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Morning View Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hulsey and Rev. John Hooper officiating and a eulogy given by his son, Ryan Robinson. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Will Byington, Dennis Matthews, David Gowens, Marty Robinson, Ryan Robinson, David Jackson and Kyle Forrister. Honorary pallbearers will include the Pre-Teen Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, https://ipffoundation.org/donate/ in memory of Mr. Robinson.
