Virgil Edward Tibbitts, Jr.

Mr. Virgil E. Tibbitts, Jr., age 85, of Dallas, GA passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 in a Rome medical center.

He was born in Paulding County, GA on August 16, 1936 a son of the late Virgil E. Tibbitts, Sr. and the late Bessie Mae Blackston Tibbitts. He had lived the greater part of his life in Paulding County and was last employed as a meat cutter with Triangle Foods of Rockmart. Mr. Tibbitts enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Christine Tibbitts; by his second wife, Mary Jane Tibbitts; by a brother, George Tibbitts and by sisters: Betty Thomas, Lillian Barber, Nell Greer, Grace Tibbitts and Judy Tibbitts.

Survivors include his three children: Ronnie Tibbitts (Jan), Randy Tibbitts (Mary) and Linda Tibbitts; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the High Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.

Grandsons and great grandson will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
