Vivadell F. Lanier

Mrs. Vivadell F. Lanier, age 84, of Rockmart, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 at her residence.

She was born in the Taylorsville area of Bartow County, GA on June 23, 1927 the daughter of the late Robert L. Ferguson and Lydia Bell Morgan Ferguson. Mrs. Lanier had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart where she was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. She retired in 1988 from the Goodyear Mill where she was employed as a Supervisor in Department 180. Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by her husband, John Curtis Lanier, Sr. on January 17, 2011 and by a son, Michael Anthony Lanier on June 19, 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Becky Racine and a son John Curtis Lanier, Jr. both of Rockmart; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Richard Smith, Ryan Smith, Douglas Racine, Lou Racine, John Lanier and Stetson Lanier.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
