Wally Frank Duren, Jr.

Mr. Wally Duren, age 74,of Rockmart passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in a Rome medical center following a very brief illness.

He was born in West Point, GA on April 27, 1938 a son of Wally Frank Duren, Sr. and Katie Sue Godfrey Duren. Mr. Duren had lived the greater part of his life in the Chamblee area of Metro Atlanta before moving to Rockmart in 1994. He was a former employee of the General Motors Corporation retiring in 1996. Mr. Duren was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters: Ann Newman and Bonnie Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Glenda Faye Duren of Rockmart to whom he was married on May 20, 1960; one daughter, Rhonda Puckett and her husband Jeff, Sugar Hill, GA; one son, Tim Duren and his wife Renee, Grayson, GA; and four grandchildren: Brian Krause, Haley Krause, Sarah Duren and Parker Duren.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

On Saturday the family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel of the North Atlanta Memorial Park, 5188 Winters Chapel Road, Dunwoody, GA 30360. A committal service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Davis officiating.
