Mrs. Wanda Louise Rayburn Baldwin, age 51, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 in a Rome medical center following a brief illness.
Wanda was born in Atlanta, GA on March 8, 1962 a daughter of Douglas M. Rayburn and Mary Louise Wheeler Rayburn. She had lived all of her life in the Rockmart area where she was a 1980 graduate of Rockmart High School. She was a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church and was employed by the Meggitt Corporation. Wanda loved spending time with her family, especially taking pictures of them and she also loved to spend time with her extended family, the Ya Ya’s. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Martin and Mary Wheeler and Gertrude and Ollie Rayburn.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny R. Baldwin to whom she was married on March 28, 1990; sons: Brett Warren (Lisa), Cody Warren (Chelsie), and Wes Baldwin; grandchildren: Emma Warren, Hailee Brand and Kalen Baldwin; mother and step father, Mary and Wayne Edwards; father and step mother, Doug and Gail Rayburn; sisters and brothers: Marcy Davis (Scott), Brent Rayburn (Krista) and Terry Rayburn; sister in law, Jill Baldwin; father in law and mother in law, Donald Ray and Nell Baldwin. A number of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and her Ya Ya sisters also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Euharlee Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Johnson and Rev. Anthony Osborn officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will include: Chad Swafford, Cole Duke, Trent McGinnis, David Lipham, Adam Dean, Shane Shuman, Jonathan Gable and Martin Jimenez. Ya Ya sisters will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
