Wayne Baines

Mr. Wayne Baines, age 62, of Rockmart passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 in a Rome medical center following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on March 18, 1957, a son of the late James Daniel Baines, Jr. and the late Lena Mea Millhollan Baines. Wayne lived all of his life in Rockmart where he was a member of the Lake View Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Baines loved aerial photography, the Atlanta Braves, and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Jackie Baines and Ricky Baines; and two sisters: Patricia Coker and Gail Hunnicutt.

Survivors include his wife, Melanie Bevel Baines of Rockmart to whom he was married on September 4, 1987; three daughters: Chrissy Baines, Albuquerque, NM, Tiffany Baines, Newnan and Brittany Childers and her husband Bobby, Aragon; two sons: Derek Baines , Rockmart and Jason Baines; seven grandchildren: Kayleigh Wofford, Kinsley Wofford, Camdon Childers, Caleb Moses, Zadyn Baines, Easton Childers and Ashton Baines; three sisters: Gloria Crumley, Aragon, Shirley Waits, Aragon and Brenda Bowman, Aragon; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Baines will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Lake View Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Hughes and Rev. Mark Purser officiating.
