Wilburn Dee Holland

Mr. Wilburn Dee “Pop” Holland, age 90, of Aragon, GA, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022, in a Rome medical facility.

He was born in Taylorsville, GA on November 5, 1932, a son of the late Dewitt Holland and the late Bannie Costlow Holland. Mr. Holland lived his early life in the Bartow and Polk county area before moving with his family to the Gadsden, AL area. After returning to Polk county for a while he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served for 23 years retiring as a Chief Mess Management Specialist. Mr. Holland worked for Zartic in Cedartown in shipping and retired following a 35 year career. He enjoyed working in his yard, traveling, and spending time with his brothers and sisters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Childers Holland; by an infant son, Phillip Holland and by nine brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters: Cynthia (Cindi) Brock and Dawne Streetman and her husband Ken; a son, Scott Holland, and his wife Nancy; five sisters: Faye Woodall, Agnes White, Fleda Robertson, Jane Chandler, and Shirley Gaston; Eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 3:00 pm in the Aragon Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy “Sonny” Pinkard officiating. Military graveside rites will be provided by the Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion.

Pallbearers will include Jeffery Holland, Blake Holland, Kody Gamel, Trevor Holland, Joshua Streetman and Seth Lacey.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm prior to the service.
