William "Donnie" Harper

William Donald Harper “Donnie”, beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away on March 19th, 2024, in Rome, Georgia. He was born on May 21st, 1949, in Cedartown, Georgia to the late Bill and Juanita Harper.

Donnie was a hardworking cement operator who dedicated himself to providing for his family, and a proud veteran.  His work ethic was unmatched, and he worked to provide tirelessly for his family. But beyond his career, Donnie's true passion lay within the walls of his home. He was a loving and devoted husband to Nancy Harper and a doting father to their daughter Ashley Harper.

In addition to being an exceptional provider for his family, Donnie had a zest for life that extended far beyond the confines of work. He found solace by the beach where he would often spend hours soaking up the sun. As an avid hunter, Donnie cherished every moment spent outdoors pursuing game.

A die-hard fan of Georgia football, Donnie’s enthusiasm for the sport knew no bounds. Whether cheering from the stands or gathered around the television at home with loved ones close by; Saturdays were sacred as they revolved around watching games together as a family.

Aside from these passions that brought him joy throughout life, it is undeniable that Donnie will be remembered most fondly as an unwavering pillar of strength within his family unit. His love knew no limits when it came to those closest to him - always putting their needs before his own without hesitation.

In addition to leaving behind countless memories etched into hearts forevermore, Donnie also leaves behind two sisters, Beverly Judd and Nancy Waddell who will miss him dearly but find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and several nieces and nephews.

The impact left by William Donald Harper extends far beyond words can express - but one thing remains certain, he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In keeping with his wishes, Donnie will be cremated, and celebration of life services will be held at a later date.
