William Edward "Ed" Williams

Mr. William Edward “Ed” Williams, age 88, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

Ed was born on January 8, 1934 in Rockmart, GA, to his parents: Sam Williams and Eula Mae Bell Williams. Mr. Williams lived all his life in Rockmart and was a faithful member of Rockmart Church of God. Growing up, he worked on he enjoyed working on his fathers farm and later retired from General Motors where he had worked as an assembly line trainer for many years. Ed loved to play golf, watch The Atlanta Braves and The Georgia Bulldogs. He also enjoyed being active with his son’s sports while they were growing up and his grandchildren’s sports through the years. Mr. Williams was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Maxwell Williams, who passed away on May 18, 2021; two sons: Barry and Ricky Williams and his brother; Charles Williams.

Ed is survived by his loving sons: Phil Williams (Sheree) of Aragon, GA and Ken Williams (Linda) of Rockmart, GA; grandchildren: Brody Williams and Keziah Williams and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Williams Edward “Ed” Williams will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 12:00 PM in The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Pasley and Pastor Richard Haney officiating. Interment will follow at Rockmart Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Ronald Williams, Billy Wills, Steve Kinney, David Duke, Lee Tenney and Dave Hardin. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Mr. Billy Stegall.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to Rockmart Church of God in loving memory of Mr. Williams.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 12:00 PM.
