Mr. William P. “Billy” Lee, age 87, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, in a Rome medical center.
He was born in Cedartown, GA on September 9, 1934, a son of the late Grady Virgil Lee, Sr. and the late Sarah Hovers Lee. Mr. Lee had lived all of his life in Polk County and was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church. He retired from Engineered Fabrics in 1993 following a thirty two year career. Mr. Lee enjoyed working on cars and spending time working in his yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Grady Virgil Lee, Jr., Homer Lee and John Willie Lee and by sisters: Annette Davidson, Leila Garrett, Laura Davidson, Catherine Gaddy and Nellie Williams. He was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Ellie Kate Nickerson.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lois Swift Lee to whom he was married on April 8, 1955; daughter, Wanda Smith (Randy); two sons: Dale Lee (Robbin) and Darrell Lee (Tracy); sister, Myrtle Garrett; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 12:00 noon in the Bellview Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Swift and Rev. Mark Purser officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Eddie Davidson officiating.
Pallbearers will include William Purser, Jeff Swift, Jimmy Davidson, Robert Lee, Duane Davidson and Jackie Purser.
The family will receive friends at the Bellview Baptist Church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until the service hour at 12:00 noon.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. William P. “Billy” Lee.
