William Seals Wallace

Mr. William Seals Wallace, age 69, of Foley, AL, formerly of Rockmart passed away Tuesday April 6, 2010 in Foley.

He was born in Cedartown, GA on May 22, 1940 a son of the late Willie T. Wallace and Lula Irene Folsom Wallace. Mr. Wallace had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart before moving to Foley, AL in 2002. He was employed by the Marquette Cement Company from 1963 until 1981 and then was a self employed over the road truck driver contracted to Carpet West of Dalton, GA for ten years. Mr. Wallace was a member of the Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church. He loved woodworking and working in the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edwina Wallace of Foley, AL to whom he was married on July 29, 1962; one daughter, Mrs. Anita Benefield and husband Barry, Centre, AL; one son, Mr. David Wallace and wife Tonya, Gulf Shores, AL; one sister, Mrs. Rubye Wilson, Dallas, GA and two grandchildren: Mr. Seth Benefield, Cedartown, GA and Ms. Laura Benefield, Opelika, AL.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Hooper officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Barry Benefield, Seth Benefield, Chris Wallace, Milo Waldrop, Len Waldrop and Jimmy Harper.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
