Willie David Copeland

Mr. Willie David Copeland, age 77, Rockmart, GA passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Forsyth, GA on May 20, 1943 a son of E.G. Copeland, Sr. and Virginia Gatliff Copeland. Mr. Copeland had been a resident of Rockmart since 1981. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Copeland was a forty year employee of the Georgia Power Company. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, scuba diving, kayaking and flying airplanes.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, E.G. Copeland, Jr. and Betty Carol Copeland; and by two sons: Michael David Copeland and Kyle Clark Pearson.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Murdock Copeland; children: William Stephens Copeland (Cyndi), Millie Copeland Tritt ( Nathan), Kathryn Copeland Henley (Clint), Michelle Harris (Wesley) and Tammy Fearing; grandchildren: Cassie Copeland Lester, Jacob Copeland, Madison Ambrosetti (Aaron), Andrew Kyle Pearson, Justin Gibson, Hannah Gibson, Andrew Harris, Steven Fearing, Sara Fearing and Aidan Goodwin; two brothers: Raymond Copeland (Doris) and Patrick Copeland (Judy); one sister, Rebecca Ham (John); and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Ministers Justin Mason and Josh Clevenger officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion.

Pallbearers will include: Patrick Copeland, Ryan Harris, Elijah Allen, Tracy Warren, Clint Henley and Nathan Tritt.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 until 7 pm at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines are to be followed and masks are recommended.
