Winifred June Rouse

Mrs. Winifred June Rouse, age 80, of 1261 Old Collard Valley Road, Aragon, passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 30, 2009.


She was born in Carrollton, GA on March 22, 1929 daughter of the late John Heaton and Ethel Wilson Heaton. Mrs. Rouse had been a resident of Atlanta the greater part of her life and moved to Aragon in 2006. She was a homemaker and a member of the VanWert Baptist Church. Mrs. Rouse was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Stewart Rouse on January 11, 1998 and by a daughter Marvel Lea Eddy on May 20, 2000.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gale Thacker, Aragon, GA and a son, Mr. Ben Rouse, Ellenwood, GA; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.


Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Brother Danny Dunn and Pastor Crystal Sproull officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.


Active pallbearers will include: Michael Holbrook, Jason Christopher Sproull, Phillip Michael Shierling, Dorsey Dion Thacker, Christopher Alex Zachery and Gary Kenneth Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will include:Ben Rouse, Davis Sproull, T. Sproull, Chase Shierling, Robbie Shierling, Branden Thacker, Nathan Thacker and Kaleb Thacker.


The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
